How to Layer A Shift Dress

SHOP THE POST

Wow, I can’t believe that Christmas is a week away. I seriously don’t know where the time went! Like I explained in my. last post, I’m keeping these blog posts short and sweet for the end of the year due to the chaos and my personal mental sanity lol.

I think I have a new favorite styling technique, and that’s layering a shift dress! It’s an easy way to spice up a very simple dress. Here, I’ve styled it over a striped turtleneck to add some dimension. Personally, I really don’t like to wear tights if I don’t have to, so I’d rather heavy layer on the top half, throw on a long coat and put on some cozy socks with booties, if I’m going for a dress look. Should you want to opt for an option that keeps you a little more warm, throw on some tights and tall boots and you’re all set!

Other great ways to style a shift dress is to pair it over some faux leather leggings, or layer an oversize sweater over top. This way you’re getting many more looks out of one piece, create dimension and adding warmth. I love to layer in any way that I can, and this dress is perfect for that. I also love that it’s a perfect basic to take through all of the seasons!
